The GNU TeXmacs project aims to provide a free, polyvalent and user-friendly scientific office suite, which can easily be interfaced with a wide range of external mathematical software. The system can be downloaded from www.texmacs.org. It should be noticed that TeXmacs has been developed from scratch in C++ and Scheme. In particular, the software does not rely on TeX or LaTeX.
